This months question: 

Can someone PLEASE explain to me about sick days, its so confusing!?!?!?!?!?

Shop Steward: “Sick days can be confusing, labour laws require employers to provide members with a minimum of 5 sick days HOWEVER those same laws can be replaced by union contracts IF that contract offers more than the minimal requirement – which is the case with CUPE 5523 our contract provides 6 sick days.

We get one extra sick day because of our contract.

HOWEVER things get complicated when you factor in our work year is from July to June and the government sick days are from January to December.
